Whitaker, written while he was serving with the 17th Texas Cavalry Regiment in Louisiana and Arkansas, and discussing farm concerns, camp life, war news and rumors, and reports on friends and family members; together with letters from her brothers, John Broughton Fenley and William Henry Fenley, who were also serving in the Confederate army and genealogical material on the Whitaker and Fenley families.
